Jaishankar holds talks with UAE’s Foreign Minister in Mumbai; says West Asia situation matter of 'deep concern'

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held significant talks with the UAE Foreign Minister in Mumbai on Tuesday (October 20, 2026). Addressing the ongoing volatility in West Asia, Jaishankar stated that the situation remains a matter of 'deep concern' and affirmed that India would continue to support all efforts to promote peace through dialogue and diplomacy. The leaders also reviewed the surge in bilateral trade facilitated by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Furthermore, they focused on deepening cooperation in critical areas including energy, defense, and people-to-people ties, aiming to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and the UAE.
